How to Enable and Send Remote Assistance Invitation

You probably might have that one friend who always has some issues with his/her system, and they would call you each time they come across it. So what do you do? Go to their place and help them out right? Well, now you do not have to leave your comfort zone to help your bestie. Welcome the Windows Remote Assistance.

The Windows Remote Assistance is also known as Quick Assist. It is a feature which enables you to receive and provide assistance over a remote connection. So now you can help your friends solve their computer troubles and show them how some things are done on their Microsoft Windows 10system right from where you’re sitting.

Now before we start with the procedure of helping each other, let’s take a look at a couple of ways by which you can launch this Windows Remote Assistance on your system.

METHOD 1:

Open the Windows Remote Assistance using the Run dialog box. Download cinema 4d for mac.

In this method, all you have to do is, open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows+R keys on your keyboard and then type msra and click on the OK button.

METHOD 2:

You can Access the Windows Remote Assistance by using the search mode.

METHOD 3:

Launch the Windows Remote Assistance from the Command Prompt

For launching the Windows Remote Assistance using the Command Prompt, follow these simple steps mentioned below:

  • Open the Command Prompt as administrator on your Windows 10 system.
  • In your Command Prompt window, type the word msra and then press Enter.

Other than these, there are various other methods as well which includes starting the Windows Remote Assistance using the Windows PowerShell, through the setting app and running it in the control panel.

Now that you know how the launching is done, let’s see how you can send out as well as receive an invitation to use this feature.

Sending an Invite to the Control Computer

For sending an invite to access the Windows Remote Assistance, follow these steps:

  • Press hold the Windows Key and then press Rso as to bring up the Runbox.
  • Type msraand then press Enter.
  • Now select the option Invite someone you trust to help you.
  • If your default email client is set properly, then you might be able to select the option Use e-mail to send an invitation. Thus by using this option, the email message will automatically be started as well as added to the attachment which you need to send. So now all you have to do is enter the email address of the person you want to send this invite to and sent it. Although in some cases you will have to opt for the option Save this invitation as a fileand then proceed to the next step.
  • If you have come across the Save this invitation as a file option, then select a location to save the invitation file and then Saveit.
  • Now you will see a window containing a password. Leave this window open or else your session will end.
  • Compose a new email message using your email service. Input the password which you were given and attach the invitation file to your message. And now send it off to the person with whom you want to connect your computer.

Connecting to a Computer After Receiving the Invitation

Now let’s take a look at how you can connect to a computer after receiving the invitation.

  • Press hold the Windows Key and then press Rso as to bring up the Runbox.
  • Type msraand then press Enter.
  • Select the option Help someone who has invited you.
  • Now click on Use an invitation file and select the invitation file.
  • Now enter the password which is provided in your email.
  • Click OKand now you are connected with your friend’s PC and can control the desktop using the Windows Remote Assistance.

Thus with the help of this Windows Remote Assistance feature, you won’t be needing applications like WinVNC or LogMeIn anymore to provide a assistance to someone’s computer.
